The LAMY AL-star combines an anodized-aluminum barrel and cap with a translucent grip. Its annual Special Editions have used the reflective character of that metal surface across a long sequence of colors. Multiple colors began appearing in the same year from 2013 onward, while releases since 2024 increasingly coordinate the grip, cap top, and clip as part of the overall color scheme.
Major references do not identify an annual Special Edition for 2012, so this timeline has no 2012 card. Colors that later moved into the standard range remain listed under the year of their first Special Edition release.

Anodized aluminum and translucent grips
The AL-star pairs an aluminum barrel and cap with a translucent resin grip. The diagrams simplify the sheen of the metal surface and the transparency of the grip; on-screen colors are references rather than measured values.
From Special Edition to standard color
Oceanblue, Black Purple, Black, Bluegreen, and Turmaline are reported to have entered the standard range after their Special Edition debut. The timeline preserves the original release year and records the later transition on each card.
Color coordination since 2024
Before 2024, a translucent smoke grip and chrome-tone parts were common. Newer editions often use a grip, cap top, and clip that match or contrast with the body, so this guide compares each part rather than the barrel color alone.
